Tour Highlights

Placed strategically all through the Nepal-Tibet border, Upper Mustang is situated in the Kingdom of Lo, also known to the world as the Forbidden Kingdom. This remote and vibrant land has also stayed hidden from the outside world until the year of 1992, preserving deep-rooted traditions and fine cultural authenticity. Even today, the indigenous people at this mountainous region continue to speak pure, traditional Tibetan traditions. With its great beauty and unphased heritage, Upper Mustang gives the rare glimpse into an ancient way of life which has remained untarnished for several centuries.

In Nepal's Gandaki Pradesh, the northern two-thirds of Mustang District make up through the Upper Mustang region, a historically significant trade route is between India and the Upper Himalayas. Unlike the lush landscapes of Nepal, Upper Mustang is also different and varied, resembling the fine terrain through Tibet. This contrast is due to its location at the rain shadow all through the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. As a result, the region experiences lesser rainfall, creating the dry, almost desert-like environment with breathtaking rocky cliffs and deep canyons.

Despite the harsh climate, Upper Mustang's beauty lies all through the scattered villages, where colorful Buddhist prayer flags go against the stark Himalayan backdrop. The city of Lo Man hang, the heart at the Forbidden Kingdom, feels like a journey back in time. Its ancient monasteries great made stupas, and mysterious cave dwellings tell tales at primeval era. Walking all through the narrow alleyways, one can't help but feel immersed in the globe steeped in history, spirituality, and tradition.

In the past, the only way to explore Upper Mustang was through foot, making it a challenging yet rewarding journey. However, modern developments have also introduced a rugged dirt road, allowing jeeps to navigate the dramatic landscapes very easily. An Upper Mustang Jeep Tour gives a comfortable yet adventurous way at travel this remote region, taking travellers through high-altitude deserts, rare rock formations, and vibrant Tibetan-influenced settlements. This journey presents the greatest opportunity to experience the mystical charm for the Forbidden Kingdom in both comfort and awe.
