Everest Base Camp is the most sought out destination for trek lovers all around the world. It is one of the most memorable journey to the Everest Region (Sagarmatha National Park) which also involves walk to Kala Pathhar which lies at the height of 5,545 m.

From Kala Patthar you can get a spectacular view of the world’s six highest mountains that are present in the Khumbu Region which includes Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,516 m),  Ama Damblam  (6,812 m),  Cho Oyu, and Nuptse (7,861 m).

The trekking trail passes through the Solukhumbu district where you can experience the ancient tradition and culture of the Sherpa people. These high mountain dwellers have a distinct way of lifestyle that will leave you in amazement.

On the way to the Everest Base Camp you’ll come across several Buddhist monasteries and chortens (prayer flags) that’ll have you spiritually uplifted. The Khumbu Region offers a wide variety of landscapes and it will be trip of a lifetime walking through the through the thick dense forests, terraced fields, valleys, meadows, and wilderness.

The Everest Base Camp Trek starts from Kathmandu from where we take a flight to Lukla airport (Tenzing-Hillary Airport). We then continue our walk through Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park and Mt. Everest itself. 

As we move along we get to experience the tradition, culture, and daily lifestyle of the Bhotias and Sherpa community. The trek to Everest Base Camp provides an enjoyable and memorable experience of the tyical Tibetan culture at a high altitude while experiencing the scenic views of the thick rhododendron and fir forests.

Itinerary

Our representative will be there to greet you at the airport from where you’ll be taken to your hotel. You can rest for the latter half of the day or go out for sightseeing.

Take an early plane from Kathmandu to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. On arrival you’ll be taken to a nearby hotel for lunch after which we head towards Phakding following the banks of Dudh Koshi River.

After an early breakfast we make our way toward Namche Bazaar. We walk along the Dudh Koshi River enjoying the view of Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m).

On the way we pass Bengar and thick forests of Chumoa. During the walk we also come across Monjo and Sagarmatha National Park Service where you’ll be required to show your identifications.

Today we rest at Namche Bazaar and acclimatize. In the afternoon you can wander around Namche Bazaar and visit the Namche Monastery, Hillary Bridge, and Sagarmatha National Park Musuem to name some.

On this day we reach Tengboche following the same banks of Dudh Koshi River. On the way you pass Phunki Tenga (3,300 m) and can enjoy the views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, and Ama Damblam.

We head towards Dingboche passing the thick rhododendron forests of Deboche. We pass the supension bridge over Imja Khola and then move to Minlinggo.

Enter Imjatse Valley after we reach Dingboche.

Rest at Dingboche and acclimatize. In the afternoon we can take a small walk to Chukung Valley and return.

Our destination for today is Lobuche which can we reached by passing the Pheriche village. During the trail you can enjoy the views of Pokalde, Kongam-tse, and Tawache.

We have lunch at Dugla (4,620 m) after which he start our walk and reach Lobuche.

Today we reach our main destination, Everest Base Camp. After a quick breakfast we head to EBC which can be reached by passing Gorakshep.

Once in EBC we can take pictures of the surroundings, and later head back to Gorakshep.

Wake up early and hike to Kala Patthar to witness the sunrise. Once the sun is out you can enjoy the spectacular views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Khumbetse, Thamserku, Pumori, and Lingtren to name some.

We then move to Pheriche where the Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is located.

From Pheriche we make our journey towards Namche Bazaar and pass Tengboche on the way. You can also visit the Buddhist monastery and research center which lies on the trail.

Today we return back to Lukla town from Namche Bazaar passing the previous Sherpa settlements which lie on the way.

Head back to Kathmandu after catching a flight from Tenzing-Hillary Airport. Enjoy the flight from the world’s highest airport and experience the thrill flying over the snowcapped mountains.

Since the weather in Lukla is unpredictable you may not be able to catch the flight on the previous and might have been stranded. In case you arrived Kathmandu then you can enjoy the day off at the capital city.

Trekkers are advised to carry their own daypacks so they can have access to all their necessary items like camera, windcheaters, and personal medical supplies. Our porters only carry 20-25 kg from your main bagpack.
