Sindhupalchok is a lovely district located at the Bagmati zone of Nepal which is bordered by China in the northern side. It is also a diverse place well known for the hills, rivers and famous Himalayas on the side. The district also has a historical, cultural and geographical importance in Nepal. Although the place is known for its loveliness, the district has encountered many series of obstacles, from natural calamities to social and economic problems. Sindhupalchok covers an area of 2542 square kilometres that has an altitude of 700 meters to more than 7100, which is above sea level. It is a mixture of rivers, slopes and sky touching mountains. The district also has the famed Bhotekoshi River, which is a tributary of the other Saptakoshi, which goes all through the region. The climate condition also changes quickly with altitude tourism that including white water rafting. This district was also once a part of great Bagmati and also played a great role in the trading relations between Tibet and Nepal as a result of the border. Ancient trade goes through this side, connecting Kathmandu with the Tibetan kingdom. The district name is taken from the famed monarch King Sindhu, who reigned in yesteryear times. Sindhupalchok also got worldwide recognition after the 2015 Earthquake in Nepal that struck the nation on 25 April.

Sindhupalchok has great potential for development despite facing varied challenges.
