Hop Nepal never adds extra charges to homestays. Our mission is simple: support local hosts, protect authentic village life, and help travellers experience the real Nepal.

Tucked away in the peaceful village of Tangting, Madi Rural Municipality-2, Kaski, is the Tangting Community Homestay for an immersive, authentic rural experience. Fifteen homestays are currently enrolled in this community enterprise, which serves organic food prepared from locally available ingredients, and visitors are also greeted under its Housing Program.
Tangting Village, as a visitor, offers something subliminal: the assurance of viewing real rural Nepal. It is a hamlet nestled in the serene Himalayan region where peaceful life amongst the Gurung people—another one of Nepal's many indigenous ethnic groups—unravels alongside living harmoniously under the protective embrace of the mountain ranges of Lamjung and Annapurna.
This village, situated on the side of a hill facing the larger Gurung village of Siklis, has one major advantage—mountain views. On clear days, this stunning panorama is dominated by Annapurna 2 and Annapurna 4, leaving visitors breathless in its splendor and offering one of those visual experiences that aptly captures the essence of the Himalayas.
The villagers are still living in their traditional houses, and certain sensitive policies have been introduced in the homestay programme to help ensure that occasional visitors receive a genuine and dignified experience. The homestay accommodation of Tangting is not merely picture-perfect but also spotlessly clean—proof of the community's commitment to hospitality. Hygienic surroundings, a family-friendly ambience, and organic produce that make for a delightful, genuine culinary experience are what the local community stands by with pride.
It's a window to the simplicity and beauty of rural Nepal—the Tangting Community Homestay. Picturesque surroundings, beautified with warm hospitality, have carved a niche in the hearts of all by sticking strictly to organic and sustainable practices. What this homestay does is not just pay respect to the ethos of local culture but also provide reviving getaways into serene Himalayan landscapes. They leave with a bundle of golden memories, but even more importantly, a depth of appreciation, enriched by the rich tapestry of culture and natural beauty alive in this corner of Nepal, where peaceful rhythms of life and breathtaking vistas combine into an unforgettable experience.
