Illam is a beautiful Nepalese district on the eastern side of Nepal, well known for its rich tea gardens, awesome hills, and evergreen landscapes. It is part of province No. 1; Illam has become a major center for making quality tea in Nepal and is generally recognized as the Tea Capital of Nepal. Apart from its tea fame, the district is well recognized for its lavish biodiversity, natural heritage, and scene beauty, which inspire and attract several travellers and intellectual individual. Illam has an area of 1,703 sq. kilometers, and its main feature is its temperate climate, which makes it the perfect place for agriculture, especially tea cultivation. The district sits at an altitude ranging from 140 meters to 3,636 meters which is above sea level, providing a temperate climate that supports a great range of crops. Visitors to Kanyam can also go through the tea gardens, take photographs, and learn about the tea-making process. Antu Danda, which is located at an altitude of 2,328 meters, is another major attraction. It is famous for offering breathtaking views of sunrise over the Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world.
