On this trekking journey, you get to witness the towering peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Annapurna, and several snow-clad peaks. The trekking path follows the river, Marshyangdi and makes its way to beautiful villages, farmlands and different landscapes. One of the main highlights of this trek which is also the highest point on this journey is the Thorung La at the altitude of 5416 meters. You get to visit the sacred place of Muktinath and witness the deepest gorge in the world namely the Kali Gandaki river. You move across the picturesque villages of Marpha Tukuche, Jomsom along with Tatopani.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the international airport at Kathmandu, you will be received by our representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking who will escort you to the hotel of your stay. You will be provided with the briefing on the trekking journey by the trek leader or guide and your confusions will all be cleared here.

After a hearty breakfast, a fun drive across the highway leads you to Synage en route Besisahar. We will see amazing diverse landscape and people along the way and we take a diversion from the place named Dumre to head to Besishar. Overnight stay at Besisahar which is the district headquarter of Lamjung region.

Our journey continues via drive savoring the amazing sight of the lush green hills, pristine waterfalls, gorge and snowy peaks along the dirt road for around 2 to 3 hours. We move across the villages Jagat and Syange and have a steep climb taking us to the terraced fields.  On our way to Jagat, we witness the amazing views of the pristine waterfalls.  We move to Chamje village now and cross a bridge to ascend till Tal afterward.  The drive becomes smoother after we leave Tal; after we cross a bridge we reach the beautiful Dharapani village. We stay here overnight.

The landscape, vegetation as well as the people change as we start moving from Dharapani. The air gets chillier and we reach the path with lush green jungle.  We ascend the jungle to reach Bagarchhap. The altitude starts rising as we reach the apple country namely Dhanaqi. We move across the orchards, farmland and spectacular pin forest savoring the view of the paks Annapurna and Lamjung.  We follow the river, Marshyangdi as we pass by the Koto and Ratamanang village before we get to Chame. We reach Chame after walking for half an hour from Koto. We stay at Chame for the night.

We move on the northern bank of the river as the trail moves along tiny villages and pine woods with some ascends and descends till we get to Bratang. We move up to a bridge and then climb up a step path across pine forest to reach the ridge top; we finally reach Pisang. We witness the amazing views of the Pisang and Chulu peak. The Pisang village is below this. We descend for an hour from the ridge to reach Pisang village.

As we savor the view of the snowy peaks, we ascend up a steep path for around half an hour from Pisang after a slow walk to reach the hilltop. We will see beautiful views of the valley, the village, Hondae and amazing views of the peaks Tilocho, Gangapurna, Chuli and Annapurna II, III along with the Pisang peak on the backdrop.  We walk downhill till Hongdae. From Hongdae, we walk on a broad trail to reach Manang.  The altitude rises as we get to the Manang and Braga village.  We will have time to go to Braga monastery. We can observe the Thangkas, statues, along with religious manuscripts here.  We reach Manang in an hour; it is our overnight stop.

As we have reached higher latitude now, we take this day to rest and acclimatize at Manang.  We explore the surrounding of the Manang village where we get to see flat-roofed homes, and the panoramic views of the Annapurna II, III (7555 meters), Gangapurna (7454 meters), Chulu West (6853 meters),  Tilicho (7132 meters)  along with Chulu East (6059 meters) northwards.

After having a great time at Manang, we head to Yak Kharkha. We gradually ascend up as we savor the views of the Gangapurna, Annapurna II, Cloche and the CHuli peaks.  We move along an arid terrain which has juniper bushes reaching the Yak Kharkha settlement. This is where we stay overnight.

We gradually ascend up from Lear; as we move ahead we see the Cloche, Annapurna II, Chuli peak and Gangapurna. We gradually get to Thorung Phedi where stay overnight. Based on your stamina and fitness level we continue the journey to Upper Phedi/High Camp. There are lesser lodge and teahouses there. Having reached here makes it convenient for us to walk the following day and decreases the walk hours.

After an early breakfast, we get to the top of the pass early to catch the view of the majestic Annapurna, Bhirkuti, Damodar as well as Dhaulagiri ranges. The walk can get strenuous as we move ahead from Phedi on the zig-zag trail for around an hour. We walk on a narrow path for half an hour till w reach the small pond with a teahouse nearby. We reach the top of the pass in an hour. Given the dangers of altitude and status of snowfall, we need to cross the pass with due vigilance. We reach the top in three or four hours from the bottom. We will be amazed by scenery the top point has to offer. The descend will be tough on the steep path. Savoring the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, we move down towards Muktinath, the holy place. We take a break and relax at one of the teahouses and continue forward. Muktinath is revered by both Hindu and Buddhists.

From Muktinath, we move ahead to Kaligandaki river valley as we descend down en route Ekale Bhatti. The valley becomes windy during the afternoon and we follow the gradual path to reach Jomsom for around two hours. Walking for around 2 hours from Jomsom leads us to the Marpha village; this village has good lodges, paved streets, and whitewashed homes. We can celebrate the completion of the trek with brandy, cider, and juice made from the local apple farms. The places like Kagbeni and Larjung are popular for the juicy apple and the products made out of them.

We drive to Pokhara on this day from Jomsom. You will have enough time to carry out individual activities here in Pokhara. You can go stroll around the lakeside, go souvenir shopping or just relax.

We return back to Kathmandu via drive or a short scenic flight based on your choice.  Our representative will escort you to the hotel as soon as you reach Kathmandu.
