Tour Highlights

What makes this tour special

Situated in the far-western lowlands of Nepal, Bardia National Park is a gem for wildlife lovers and adventure fans. It's the largest and least explored of the finest Nepalese national parks, offering a more authentic and off-the-beaten-path safari experience compared to the more commercialized and well-known Nepalese state of Chitwan.

Wildlife Encounters

Home to a diverse range of species, Bardia offers fine chances to spot:

  • Royal Bengal Tigers
  • Wild Asian Elephants
  • One-horned Rhinoceros
  • Leopards, Sloth Bears, and Crocodiles
  • Over 450 bird species, such as Bengal floricans, hornbills, and numerous kingfishers
  • Freshwater Gangetic dolphins in the Karnali River

The best time to visit this place is October to April

Safari Activities

 Jeep Safari

 Walking Safari

The unique and intimate way they track wildlife on foot—led by expert trackers, is thrilling, safe, and enjoyable.

River Safari

Canoe or raft through the Karnali River, with impressive and enjoyable views of crocodiles, water birds, and incredible freshwater dolphins.

 Cultural Tours

Visit Tharu villages, known for their fine eco-friendly homes, colorful culture, and excellent jungle survival skills.

Accommodation

Accommodation, from convenient eco-lodges to comfortable jungle resorts, is also usually situated just outside the park gates at Thakurdwara village. This gives the locals hospitality and great access to wildlife.

How to Reach There

  • By Air: Fly from Kathmandu to the glorious Nepalgunj (1 hr.), then drive until two hrs. at Bardia.
  • By Road: 14–16 hrs. Drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara; you must face a more scenic but long distance, but the long journey will be worth it.
