Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return: Quick & Scenic

When you reach the international airport at Kathmandu, you will be warmly received by one of a representative at Nepal Trekking Routes who will assist you to the hotel of your stay. You can relax at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

On this day, we head out to visit the significant tourist destinations of Kathmandu after we grab breakfast. We go visit the major sites like Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. You will be assisted by a guide for this tour. There will be a pre-trek meeting before dinner for the necessary briefing. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

We start early on this day as we board on the plane to get to Lukla from Kathmandu. Lukla is the gateway to Mount Everest. This exciting, scenic flight will take around thirty minutes. After landing on Lukla, we spend some time resting and head to Phakding. Phakding is the starting point of our trekking journey. Overnight stay at Phakding.

We have a delicious breakfast in the morning and then move ahead following the river Dudh Koshi along the lush green hills. We cross a suspension bridge above the confluence of the rivers Dudh Koshi and Bhotekoshi where we can spot the mighty Everest and other snowy peaks. We move uphill till we get to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

We spend this day for acclimatizing to the higher altitude. We use this day to explore the natural surroundings of Namche Bazaar. We have the choice to hike till Everest View Hotel which is one of the hotels at the highest altitudes across the world. We can witness the majestic peaks like Thamserku, Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and others. We get back to Namche and take time to relax at a café or pub in Namche. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

We start early in the morning; we start marching down across the trekking path. This will be a relatively easy walk across the beautiful jungle of pines, magnolia and oaks. We get to Tengboche where we can visit the popular Tengboche monastery. This monastery is revered by the Sherpa people and is around 300 years old. W can spot the spectacular Ama Dablam from here. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

We walk downhill as we walk past the lush green forests first. We will see the change in vegetation as we walk ahead; they will change to shrubs and the landscape will turn rocky. We will see walled houses here. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

We have separated this day for rest and acclimatization. You can get assistance from the trekking leader for hiking to the beautiful Pangboche valley. We can explore the local lifestyle and culture and enjoy the sight of the yaks here. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

The path to Lobuche from Dingboche is straight and has open lands as well as fresh streams. We can savor the sight of the beautiful peaks like Lhotse, Thamserku, and Everest. Also, we can pay our respect to the memorials which are built for deceased mountaineers and trekkers. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

This is the main highlight of our trekking journey. The path is rocky and we are going to walk across the Khumbu glacier. We will have to cross huge boulders and rocks. We will reach Gorakshep before we get to Everest Base Camp. Overnight stay at Gorakshep.

We get back to Kathmandu via flight from Gorakshep. This is going to be an exciting experience. During the return, we stop at Lukla for fuel for helicopter and then get to Kathmandu.

This day marks the end of your Himalayan adventure in Nepal. You can spend time, exchanging email id with your travel mates and organizing the trip pictures. You can also go for sightseeing or shopping if you like. You will be escorted to the airport around three hours before the scheduled flight by our representative from Nepal Trekking Routes.
