Manaslu Circuit Service Trek is an ideal option for trekking if you want to feel the unspoiled natural environment of the Himalaya with scenic mountain views, aloof Buddhist villages near Tibetan border along with cultural and geographical beauty. This trekking trail is one of the adventurous and challenging treks in Nepal and is lesser crowded than the popular treks like Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Bas camp.

The Manaslu Trek is popular as the best outstanding trek in Nepal and it is situated on the Great Himalaya Trail. It is also a perfect tea-house trek as there are many tea houses along the way; this means the trekkers need not carry tents and food. Trekking throughout Manaslu facilitates with splendid mountain views, isolated Buddhist villages near to the Tibetan edge and cultural and geographic assortment is amazing. The trek passes along the adjoining fields and sub-tropical forests of the hills. Climbing north, the landscape slowly transforms into the arid, high altitude landscapes connected to Tibetan culture. You have the option to blend this trek with Tsum valley, a beautiful secluded valley with antique Tibetan traditions.

Itinerary

We will pick you at the airport upon your arrival in Kathmandu and transfer you to your hotel.  You will be briefed about your trek and you will have enough time to settle in and get refreshed. Stay overnight at the hotel.

After a hearty breakfast, we will head west along the Kathmandu Pokhara Highway to reach the Soti Khola village. After driving from Dhading for around four hours, we will reach this small, beautiful village occupied by the Newar community. Forty-five minutes drive from this village leads us to our destination. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

After having breakfast, we start our trekking to reach the village named Machha Khola; here we will first climb into a ridge above the fierce current of Budhi Gandaki river and then head to Khursane (820 meters) along a rocky route. We will have to cross a suspension bridge to reach Machha Khola.  Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

The journey continues to a long suspension bridge which takes you to the place named Doban (1000 meters). This route crosses the Tharo Khola and moves to Khorlabesi. After some ascend and descend, we arrive at Tatopani, the hot spring. The trail then ascends to next ridge and moves across the Budhi Gandaki. 

After climbing some stairs to Tharo Bharyang, we reach the destination for the day. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Our next stop is seven to eight hours away. We make our way over a rocky ride which takes us to Salleri and then we descend to the place named Sirdibas. The trail continues to Ghatta Khola river and we continue to move towards Deng en route Philim, a big Gurung village. On this day, the trail moves through beautiful waterfalls on both sides of the valley. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

On this day, w pass through lush green jungles, move through Alpine vegetation to reach a valley. As we move forward, the jungle becomes less dense gradually. After one final steep climb, we will reach the Namrung village. We stay overnight at guesthouse.

After spending some quality time at Namrung, we head to Samagaon. We will see majestic views of Ganesh Himal, Mt. Himal CHuli and Siring. We will also see the Mt. Manaslu from Lho, a village you will pass by as you move to Samagaon. Then, we will visit the famous Ribung Gompa. We stay overnight at a guesthouse in Samagaon.

We will have a break at Samagaon for acclimatization. We will enjoy the beauty of the village and have a short trek to Manaslu Base Camp on this rest day. We will witness the amazing view of Mt. Manaslu, Simnang Himal, Manaslu Icefall, Manaslu glacier, Samdo and Nagdi Chuli from Manaslu base camp. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

On this day, we head to Samdo; we will witness beautiful mountain birds along this trail including the Lammergeyer, Himalayan Griffin and Lophophorus. Also, we will get to see the Himalayan ranges like Hiuchuli, Ngadi, Simrang, Larkye Peak and Kang Guru.  We will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

We will reach the Tibetan market named Larke Bazar on this day after crossing some streams and then descend to the river, Budhi Gandaki.   We will arrive at our lodge in Dharmasala after a steady climb after we have crossed the stream that runs down the pass named Gya La, this pass moves to Tibet. We stay overnight at a guesthouse in Samdo.

This journey will be challenging but worth all the challenge and exhaustion with the views it has to offer. We will encounter beautiful glaciers lakes, valleys, villages and variety of plants and animals on your trail. It will feel strenuous to cross over the Larkya Pass. We will witness the majestic views of Cheo Himal (6820 meters), Gyagi Kung, Annapurna II (7937 meters), Himlung Himal (7126 meters), and Kang Koru (6981 meters). We will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

On this day, we move from Bhimtang; we will move through lush green forests and follow the track of Dharapani beyond the village of Tilije.  We are going to meet a lot of trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

This is the final day of Manaslu trek; we move from Dharapani to Besisahar via jeep. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Good to know

Accommodation On Manaslu trek

We will provide you with lodging facility at a three-star hotel( two nights) in Kathmandu. Accommodation shall be provided throughout the journey at lodges or tea houses. Please be reminded that lunch and dinner are excluded as this is a service trek. Standard accommodation is available throughout the trek.

Transport Facility During Trek

Before the place named Aarughat was the beginning point for the trek but now we move to trek from Soti Khola as roads have expanded. Roads are quite rough along the trail. We will drive to Soti Khola via local transport facility and in a private jeep to Besisahar from Dharapani.

Food And Drinks

The Manaslu Circuit Trek recently turned into a teahouse trek from a camping trek so you will be provided with a variety of food items if not all. We recommend you to bring water purification tablets to purify the freely available water. You do have the option of getting bottled water.

Porters And Guides

Experienced and well-trained guides are available for you and your team to handle your logistics and for guidance along the route. One porter can be allocated to every two trekkers, and each porter can carry 20 kilograms.
