Tour Highlights

Mera Peak Climbing is an adventure to one of the highest trekking peaks in Nepal and an exploration of the fairly unexplored and densely landscape at the edge of Khumbu region. With the panoramic view of several of the world’s highest peaks above 8000m as the highlight of this non-technical climb adventure, you shall have glimpse of authentic Sherpa culture, green and lush landscape and quaint trekking trails are other attractions. Trekkers complete their Mera Peak climbing with a traverse of the sanctuary of Makalu Barun National Park, high pastures, high altitude passes, small villages of hardworking Sherpas, lush valleys, glacial moraines, and majestic glaciers, diverse vegetation, and sparsely inhabited Hinku valley. Join this trek for a moderate mountaineering experience, off the beaten trekking and experience of trekking immersed in unique local culture.

Mera Peak Climbing adventure begins from Lukla, the famous gateway to the Khumbu region and immediately takes the less explored trail towards the Hinku valley. Through the dense forest with pristine rhododendron, oak, silver fir, birch and Jennifer trees, small settlements with stone houses and ensembles of Sherpa culture, we reach to the steep face of Zatrwa La Pass (4610m). Further ahead in the trail we have the view of beautiful alpine lakes and Peak Mera Glacier as we further explore the trail ahead towards the peak. Continuing further below the tree level and on some long descent trail on a steep rocky trail on a mountainside, we traverse through the settlements of Thangnak and Khare to finally reach the base of Mera Peak. Observing the glorious summit of Mera Peak en route, we climb through the glacial moraine, rocky terrains and snowfields with an easy and sometimes steep ascent to reach the peak of the scenic Mera Peak. After enjoying the views of five eight-thousanders (Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu) we shall take some mandatory summit shots and descend down to High Camp, Base Camp, and Khare. Through the small settlements with few teahouses and green lush landscape, we return to Lukla and then to Kathmandu to end the Mera Peak climbing.

Mera Peak Climbing requires you to have above average physical fitness enough to hike for 6-7 hours a day in hilly terrain and previous experience of ice ax and crampons, yet no previous climbing experience is needed. Develop in you the mental endurance to sustain yourself during the adventure and get an opportunity to explore the alpine wilderness.
