Religious Significance Of The Tilicho Lake

Tilicho Lake is thought by Hindus to be the old Kak Bhusundi Lake referenced in the epic Ramayana. Near this lake, the sage Kak Bhusundi is said to have first told Garuda, the king of birds, about the events of the Ramayana. While recounting Garuda the story, the sage assumed the form of a crow. In Sanskrit, the word crow is Kak, so the sage is known as Kak Bhusndi.
