The climb is also very short and accessible, offering trekkers a chance to see some of the highest peaks in the globe, such as Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Nilgiri (6,940m) and many more. The sunrise through Poon Hill is an unforgettable and brilliant experience, with the first light casting through the golden glow all through the snow-capped peaks, creating a dramatic and incredible scene, which is the major highlight of the amazing trek.
As you trek in Ghorepani, you will travel through the dense rhododendron forests, pass icy waterfalls, and enjoy the tremendous subtropical valleys that make the trail incredibly diverse. The trek gives a pleasing experience as you go through the warm-hearted and happy-natured village people and great leveled terraced fields, meeting local communities such as the brave Gurungs and Magars, who have lived in harmony with the mountains for ages. Ghorepani and Ghandruk are two of the main Gurung settlements through the beautiful Annapurna region, offering trekkers a glimpse into the traditional lifestyles of these ethnic groups. Along with the delicate natural beauty, the trek gives the best opportunity to experience the culture and hospitality of Nepal's mountain communities, making the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek not only a fine visual treat but also an introspective into the rich cultural heritage of the region.
