The ideal times for the Khopra Danda Trek are spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). During these seasons, the weather is dry, and trekking conditions are excellent. The chances of rainfall are low, reducing the risk of landslides. However, it’s important to prepare for cooler temperatures at higher altitudes, especially in the early mornings and evenings.
Avoid trekking during the summer monsoon season (June to August), as heavy rains and landslides can make the trail more dangerous and less enjoyable.

Late in the evening, at around 6:00 PM, your trekking guide will meet with you at the brief orientation at the Khopra Danda Trek. This session will have essential details about the trek, like the itinerary and what to expect on the way, and with no necessary preparations, ensuring you are well-equipped and settled for the entire adventure.
Your Khopra Danda Trek begins the guide picks at your hotel at 6:30 AM. You will head to the tourist bus terminal at the best seven-hour drive through Pokhara, following great routes through the Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers. On the way, you will enjoy the lunch break, allowing you to recharge and experience incredible landscapes.
Upon arriving at the lovely Pokhara, you'll tour the hotel, where you can relax and prepare for the trek ahead. This first part of your journey shows Nepal's breathtaking scenery and the stage for the adventure waiting for you in the heart and essence of the Himalayas. You'll be waiting and spending a quality night in Pokhara, with breakfast included, ensuring you're well-rested through the coming days.
After eating a delightful breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara, your adventure begins with a private rented vehicle or jeep ride through Nayapul, the starting point at your trekking point.
From there, you will hike uphill to the lovely village of Ghandruk. This trek also offers a glimpse of the region's fine landscapes and great cultural heritage, which says a lot about the region and sets the stage for the exciting journey well ahead.
In Ghandruk, you will spend the night at the local lodge, which also provides breakfast, lunch, and a fine dinner. Located in the stunning Himalayan foothills, the Fibe village allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture while reliving the incredible scenery.
After the OK hearty breakfast, we will start our trek, which takes around three to four hours through great oak and rhododendron forests. The trail ascends at the Tadapani through the 2,630 meters and through the soothing sounds of flowing water. We'll have lunch at Bherikharka, a peaceful spot with local tea shops that will provide a well-deserved break on our journey.
Today's trek goes through the significant path for the Annapurna Base Camp route, guiding at the peaceful rhododendron forests and great clearings. The trail goes uphill for nearly three hours until we reach the Isharu, where we will have a refreshing lunch break. Continuing another two and a half hours through lush rhododendron trees, we finally arrive at the peaceful Dobato.
Through Dobato, there is also a half-hour climb at the Muldai View Point, which we will visit the following day.
This viewpoint gives breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre mountain ranges, providing a great setting and witnessing the stunning sunrise. We will spend the night at the local lodge at the Dobato, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner will also be seen, ensuring a comfortable and great stay before the next day's adventure line.
We will climb the 30-minute climb to Muldai View Point early in the morning, where we can see the stunning sunrise over the majestic Himalayas. After soaking up the breathtaking views, we will return to Dobato for breakfast before going on our trek through enchanting rhododendron forests, taking a mix of varied paths.
As we make our way to Bayli Kharka, a fine grassland threatening views of the Dhaulagiri range, we move into the rural part of Nepal. We go on a three-hour trek to Chistibung, a great village with grand lodges and a welcoming community. This fantastic setting provides excellent accommodations and marks the beginning of the fine immersive experience in the Nepalese countryside. We will spend all night at the local lodge at the place of Chistibung and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner during our stay.
Today, we see the significant highlight of our Khopra Danda Trek as we go through the Khopra Ridge. The trek goes through the ascent, where we could see the famed Himalayan tahr and Danfe pheasants on the way. As we move on, we will take frequent breaks to rest and feel in the sumptuous surroundings.
We will reach Khopra Ridge by midday, where spectacular views of the nearby mountains will greet you. Directly in front of you is the great Mt. Annapurna South Show. Fang and Nilgiri are on the north side—the great Dhaulagiri mountain range is at the western horizon, rising tall above the Kali Gandaki Valley. Spending the night at the Khopra Ridge through the local lodge gives you an unforgettable experience of all the delicate, breathtaking landscapes, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided during your stay.
Upon breakfast, we will go to the essentials for the day trip to Khayer Lake, a stunning site that offers excellent views of the Fang and the great mountain ranges. As we move through the ridge, we'll see the panoramic sites in both regions, enhancing the beauty of our trek.
Khayer Lake is also a great destination. It is believed that bathing in its waters can offer great benefits, like attaining Nirvana.
The Lakeside is placed in Buddhist and Hindu shrines, creating a peaceful atmosphere. After spending quality time soaking in the tranquility of Khayer Lake, we will go back to Khopra Ridge, where we will spend the night in a comfortable lodge. During our stay, we will enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Treks begin with a great descent through the Khopra Ridge as we return to the Chistibung. About an hour into the trail, we will stop for a quick lunch at Kharka, allowing us to recharge before continuing our journey. The path features irregular trails leading us through the region's fine landscapes.
Eventually, we will arrive at Swanta, a charming and lesser-known Magar village that gives a glimpse at local life. Here, we will spend the night in the local lodge, enjoying its hospitality and comfort.
Today starts with a descent through the Swanta through fine village fields, leading us to the tiny river where we can see the great watermill. After being through the well rounded and suspension bridge, we will go to the Chittre and be on the journey to the main trekking trail. Continuing uphill, we will have go to the village of Ghorepani, well known for the fine views for the Dhaulagiri range.
Upon arriving through the Ghorepani, we will get the well-deserved break in this great stop along our journey. Here, we will spend some time at the local lodge, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be given and you will be enjoy the food here.
We start our day at the early morning through moving unto Poon Hill, which sits at the height of 3,210 meters, has great views for the surrounding mountains and great sunrise. After soaking at the great scenery, we will return at the Ghorepani for the fine trip before continuing at the trek to Ulleri, which is only a some mile away.
Upon arriving through the Ulleri, you will take a private jeep ride through the great city of the lovely city of Pokhara.
Once there, you can see the serene ambience of the Lakeside, enjoying the beautiful surroundings as you go on your trekking adventure. This relaxing afternoon is a great way to conclude your journey, mixing the Himalayas' incredible beauty with Pokhara's refined atmosphere.
You will have an incredible experience at the stunning highlands and then go on a fine morning drive back to Kathmandu. This great journey lasts seven hours and offers great views as you reflect on your trekking trails.
Upon arriving in Kathmandu capital, you will be taken to your hotel, where you can rest after your travels. You will spend the night at the comfortable hotel, with breakfast included, allowing you to recharge before going to the vibrant city.
After breakfast and your final day in Kathmandu, our vehicle will be ready to drop you off at the international airport three hours before our planned departure home. Meeting you has been our best honor, and we wish you a safe journey home.
Physical Fitness: Being in good physical shape is crucial for the trek, which includes moderate to difficult hiking. To increase your stamina and endurance before the hike, think about beginning a fitness program.
Altitude: Although Khopra Danda is not a very high altitude place, there are sections of the climb that go above 3,000 meters (9,800 ft). In order to avoid altitude sickness, make sure to include rest days and a steady rise in your itinerary.
Permits: Before beginning the hike, make sure you have the required permits. Usually, this includes the Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP).
