Overview
Trip Overview
Popular as the “Matterhorn of the Himalaya” in Nepal across the world, Ama Dablam Peak stands at a height of 6812 meters and is situated amidst the mighty Mount Everest and the tall peak of Lhotse in the region of Khumbu. This peak is in the form of a meadow so it is called the “Matterhorn “. Again, Ama Dablam means “Necklace of the mother”; this peak was named this because it resembles the arms of a mother trying to protect their child.
Ama Dablam is an excellent peak across the Himalaya which offers an amazing experience of trekking across the diverse terrain, culture, and people. Scaling the Ama Dablam however requires more than courage, it entails skills as well as experience in scaling high altitude. We focus on the safety and fun part of this expedition so we try to keep our team as small as possible so proper attention can be provided to each member and each individual’s needs are taken care of. We have experienced guides, the proper infrastructure, as well as base camp facilities to make this journey worthwhile for you.

ESSENTIAL TREK INFO
Good to Know
Travel insurance along with a good emergency evacuation insurance is kept mandatory as they cover the cost for evacuation from the higher elevation via any mode of transportation. We also recommend the travellers to have the cancellation insurance just in case you have an accident before the departure of your trip gets cancelled due to external events.
Experience and Fitness level
Good physical condition is important for your own safety and the accomplishment of the trekking journey. Before the trek, w advise trekkers to at least do running, swimming or cycling like activities and also climb smaller peaks that require you to use crampons under different conditions.
Make sure, you are exposed to different conditions and have steep descends for long times and are able to carry an average of 30lbs baggage. It is better if you have ice and rock climbing experience which will make it easier to scale the alpine trail. Get familiar with using your gear, crampon, jumars, knots, and ascenders. Note that we review the portfolio of each climber individually to assist them in taking up this trekking journey.
Food
You will be able to perform better if you have an adequate amount of food. Because people face appetite loss in higher elevations, our guides will assist you with easily digestible, rich food. At the base camp, our culinary staff will set the menu. We recommend you to bring along energy bars, dry fruits, and other energy generating snacks. We cater to your dietary needs and can provide vegetarian menus on request.
Accommodation
You shall stay at deluxe hotels while in Kathmandu and you will stay at guesthouses and local lodges while trekking. You will slep in tented camps while in Base camp. Kindly note that luxury accommodation is not available in the higher ranges especially in the Base Camp area so do not keep your expectations high. The accommodation facility while trekking is based on twin sharing basis and is not as lavish as it is in Kathmandu.
Emergency Rescue
For precaution, a person suffering from high altitude sickness is transferred to a lower altitude for rest and in the worst condition, you will be transferred down by a helicopter or land transportation.
Weather Forecast
For a reliable weather report, w recommend to use Austria or Meteo Swiss; we can help you get in touch with them. You will get accurate quick forecasts on whether through SMS or email and you can prepare accordingly.
